A New Method for the Determination of Loss on Ignition in Iron Ores —Thermogravimetry

  • 摘要: 采用热重分析法(TGA)测量铁矿石样品灼烧减量,对保温时间、加热温度、加热速率和工作气氛等工作条件进行了系统研究,确立TGA法适宜的工作条件为:20℃/min加热至1000℃,保温30 min,全程选用高纯氮为工作气体。对多种进口铁矿石样品采用TGA法和常规马弗炉加热法进行测量,对比结果表明,TGA法具有方便快捷、准确可靠、适用范围宽、样品消耗量小等优点,且可以清楚监控样品失重全过程,为铁矿石挥发分的成分分析提供有力的数据参考。

     

    Abstract: A new method for the determination of loss on ignition in iron ores—thermogravimetry analysis(TGA) was developed. The measurement conditions were systematically studied and optimized. Samples were heated up to 1000℃ with heating rate of 20℃/min and held for 30 min under the protection with high pure argon flow rate of 50 mL/min throughout the experiments. The results of comparative test of TGA with traditional method (muffle furnace burning) for various kinds of imported iron ores showed that the TGV method provided the advantages of higher accuracy and reliability, more convenience, wide application range, smaller sample consumption and was especially suitable for the analysis of volatile components in iron ores.
