Abstract: The Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive (2002/95/EC), which was published in January 2003 by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union, established the restrictions on the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipments. Many other countries have established similar restrictions. The provisions of the RoHS directives affected all companies that market electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) in the EU. China′s government is serious about this directive and other environmental laws. RoHS directive effectively drives China′s EEE manufacturers to promote technological updates and catch up with international level as well as facilitate the export of related products.
